1 Minute Typing Test
Click the text and start typing — the timer begins on your first keystroke. Correct letters turn dark, mistakes turn red.
Your result
A one minute typing test: you have 60 seconds to type as much of the passage as you can, and the test scores your words per minute and accuracy when the clock runs out. The countdown starts the moment you begin typing.
One minute is the classic benchmark, but you can stretch it to 2, 3, or 5 minutes below for a steadier average. The passage extends itself so fast typists never run out of text.
How it is scored: WPM is your correct characters divided by five (the standard word length), over the minutes you spent typing — so accuracy is baked into the number. Typos count against both your accuracy percentage and your speed. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded and there is no account to create.
